• Lobby and presence information: home-lobby metadata, lobby membership, realtime position/movement updates, speaking state, and moderation state (for example mute, lock, or kick actions).
• Voice transport information: realtime voice media needed to run live conversation sessions.
• Contact form information: name, email, subject, message, and anti-abuse verification metadata (including Turnstile verification status/token).
• Technical and security information: IP address, user agent, device/browser details, approximate timestamps, and service logs used for reliability and abuse prevention.
• Local browser storage: session/auth tokens and user preferences required for sign-in and app functionality.

3. No In-App Recording

BetterVC is designed for realtime conversation. We do not provide built-in recording or transcription for live lobby audio in the current product.

You should assume other participants may use their own tools or device features to record. You are responsible for complying with applicable laws and obtaining required consent before recording others.

4. How We Use Information

• Provide and operate authentication, lobbies, realtime presence, and voice transport.
• Maintain account security, prevent abuse, and enforce platform controls.
• Respond to support and contact requests.
• Debug reliability/performance issues and improve service quality.
• Comply with legal obligations and protect user and platform safety.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers that help us operate BetterVC (for example infrastructure, realtime transport, authentication/email, and anti-abuse tooling), subject to contractual and security controls.

We may also disclose information when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, and satisfy legal or operational requirements. Realtime voice media is intended for live transport, not long-term storage as recordings by BetterVC.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices

• You can update profile fields such as display name and avatar color in Settings.
• You can stop using voice features by disabling microphone access in the app or browser.
• You can contact us to request support or data-related help.

9. Children's Privacy

BetterVC is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will review and address the request.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
